I bought a car with Kpro.....and I need detailed instruction

Post by unpredictableacts »

I bought a 2002 civic Si with the followong mods.

Type-R Swapped motor w/ tranny and LSD
Skunk 2 Stage 2 Cams w/ exhaust cam gear
Brain Crower Valvetrain
Toda Timing Chain Tensioner
Compention Clutch Kit
ACT Prolight Flywheel
RBC intake Manifold w/ Karcepts Spacer
Buddy Club Race Header
550 cc injectors
K-Pro
AEM V2 Intake

.....As you can see it has Kpro and I have no idea how to use it or where to start. I deal alot in car audio and fabrication and know how it is for the new guy to come in and want someone to hold there hand and walk them through things.......but please someone take my hand.

I am not sure if i will need a laptop to do the tuning correctly or what. I do know that i have a USB cord along side my senter console, and when I recieved the car the idel was revving at around 1800rpm. The car has not been tuned for about 2 years now, and do to sounding like shit I physically turned it down by adjusting the throttle until i could find the best place to learn Kpro....and why not visit where it started....here. I see alot of people posting data logs of there runs and from that point a tuning genius will swoop in a mod their tune....and I have not got the slightest idea on how to do this. Or even if there is certian software that i need to download first.

so please HELP>

You need a laptop and the USB cable to datalog. Do you have those?
If so plug in USB to ECU and laptop.

Start car,
Start up Kmanager,
click on lightening bolt(datalogging)
then click on red dot next to it(record datalog),
then click on red dot again to end the recording
then click on the Datalog Tab and Save As.

Thats about it to do a datalog.

Hi,

It is best to request the calibration file from the previous owner of your car.

Your injectors, cams, an etc... are not stock so it won't be easy for a beginner to tune with those modifications.

You won't be able to go back to your current calibration if you mess something up and it is possible but not recommended to download a calibration from your ECU to your laptop and work on it.

Good luck and happy tuning...
