Timing, again, with dataloging

Post by DOHCAccord »

OK, we keep asking this but without any help.

The timing is set to 16 degrees, ok window closes and your off.

now, i set it to 16 best as i could with my timing light, after checking it multiple times. now, when driving, it only shows timing at 15 degrees but the smanager program is for 16.25. does that mean im off at the distributor? or what else could it be?

im confused. what is showing timing at 15 degrees, and what do you mean by "smanager program is for 16.25? "

this is a shot in the dark because i dont really understand your question but just because your car's timing is set to 16 degrees btdc doesn't mean that is where its going to be at idle. the ecu adjusts the timing based on a few other factors. that is why you have to jump the wiring harness under the passenger dash or use the set timing feature in hondata because it stops the ecu from dynamically adjusting the timing and it sticks to the actual timing curve. you also need to make sure you car is idling in spec and you have all accessories turned off when setting the timing.

Ignition Comp.

Your dissy timing wont have any relevance to the datalog value.
