Emmisions testing with a PRD ecu

Post by dlnkwnt »

I am sure this topic has been beaten to death, but still i am not satisfied with the answers i have found.

I need to pass emmisions on 2002 si with a jdm k20a swap, full race header and kpro tuned prd ecu.

My question is would i be able to pass using my PNF or stock 2002 si ecu and an o2 simulator like omni powers or somethign similar?

My thought is that if i drive the car to the shop, switch ecu's in the bay (yes i happen to know these guys) take out my wideband and throw in a normal o2 sensor with a o2 simulator to make the os sensor believe it's reading catalized gases, will this work.

If not any suggestions are welcome.
much appreciated

What country/state? If you do not have a cat, then it is very difficult to pass emissions.

I live in NY State. OBD2 cars only have to plug into a machine which checks for obd2 readiness codes. if there are no codes being thrown, you pass.

I checked all my rediness codes and they all come up as Not Supported. In another posting you said this was OK. That means i should be able to pass emissions? Keep in mind, i do not go on a dyno or use the sniffer for my emissions in ny state.
