can't open S100 ROM in RE4

Post by Jan Niemi »

I get checksum error when trying to open an S100 ROM in RE4.

Any ideas?

Also if I burn a chip for the S100, it puts the Hondata in limp mode (red LED blinks)

I want to keep supporting S100 customers, but this is really a pain in the butt..I'm ready to just tell him to upgrade to S300.

Any advice?

The bin file you have posted is not an s100/s200 file. It is an old version 2.5 rom from a Staged system.

So what software do I need to be able to read it and to also tune the system?

I tried using RE4 v1.0.9.0 to create a base map, but it just faults out his ECU

What is the serial number of the Hondata system you have and what ECU is this in?

Ok, there's an aluminum box under the dash..I guess this makes it an early S200? The number on it is 492

The ECU is a P72

What exactly does the serial number on the box say...please give all the numbers. It sounds like you have a staged system.

it's a raw brushed aluminum box with a serial port.

It has a white Hondata sticker on it with the following information

Stage 2
Boost N
Datalog N
No 492

(The 2, N, N, and 492 are hand written)

There is no other information anywhere on the box. I assume 492 is the serial number.

This is a Stage 2 system which has been discontinued for about 5 years. It is not an s200, and is not compatible with Romeditor 4. I would highly recomend upgrading to the s300 for $445.
