p28 and s200

Post by justin »

Ok I have a p28 ecu that I bought a while ago for a Hondata stage 2b. Now that the s200 just came out I am getting that with boost. The ecu I have is a p28 auto ecu. The notes say on the Hondata site:
"# Manual transmission only with the s200 system."

Does that mean my actual car tranny must be manual? Or does that mean the ecu to be used w/ the s200 has to have come from a manual tranny car? I need to find out if I need a different ecu or not. Thanks.

The tranny needs to be manual. THe ECU doesn't matter. You can convert it from auto to manual. THe reason is that the added features are eating up the space for the auto transmission function.

The gearbox in the car must be manual. The ECU can be either manual or auto, as long as the ECU is jumpered to 'manual' (there is a good chance that this has already been done with any ECU).

Cool then, I am good to go :) The dealer that is prepping my ecu can take care of the jumper thing so it's for a manual car. Thanks!
