Is the O2 sensor adaptability turned off with RSX-S Reflash?

Post by CobraCommander »

I am curious to know if the re-learning portion of the emissions system is still active under a reflash for my 2006 Acura RSX Type-S.

I know of some tunes that deadlock the emissions settings to be constant as opposed to vary depending on the different items that affect them.

Does the reflashed ECU still have the capability to learn and adapt like stock or no?

Thanks in advance.

The reflash is still in closed loop and uses the primary O2 sensor.

I guess what I am wondering is if the short term and long term fuel trim calculations are still being performed or are the variables deadlocked to a pre-determined value.

In other words, does the computer still adapt to driving habits under the reflash?

The reason why I am asking is because I am testing alternative fuels and not seeing the normal lean conditions experienced with the stuff I am using. In fact the fuel is remaining stoich and it seems to be adapting to the new fuel reformulation very well and quickly.

I am looking for any detail Hondata has on whether they leave the adaptive learning capabilities on or if they are modified in any way. Any insight as to how the Honda system compares to the adaptability capabilities of other vehicle management systems would also be beneficial i.e. do Honda systems react faster, etc...

Thanks

Nothing has been changed in how the ecu works. Long and short term trim have not been modified.
