newbie question?
I was wondering if anyone ever use a Dell computer to tune Hondata? I tried on mine, never could connect to the ecu. Hondalogger, RomEditor, downloading ROM and tables and everything else works fine. Tripple check all the connection and cableI've contact Hondata and they told me the Dell computer I'm using is not compatible. Every time I'm in RomEditor I plug the serial cable to the interface box the red light starts to blink. But if I close out of RomEditor and open Hondalogger then everything works fine, connection to the ecu is not a problem. If anyone out there have any advice or share similiar issues please reply asap. T hanks
I have a Dell laptop that I use for tuning (an old 400 MHz celeron Latitude). I can reproduce a similar problem if I connect the serial cable to the laptop before the car is actually started and running. The solution for me is to disconnect the cable from the laptop, start the car, then reconnect the cable and connect with Hondalogger/Romeditor. This works for me.
Interesting that Hondata says it's a Dell problem. I hadn't heard that.
