"floating point division by zero" error, pulling h

Post by shawn c »

hi all, everything's peachy with my S300, besides in smanager when i open the display, a ton of errors start popping up. I have to hit esc over and over really fast to close each error window and close the display window asap. this sucks, besides i'd like to see my wideband readout on the display to ease tuning.

I believe this started when i may have had 2 AF windows up at once, but now i can't use the display at all and it sucks. so far i've tried updating to the newest software version, no workie, then i uninstalled everything completely, removed any leftover files, then reinstalled it. this worked the first time it opened, then it went right back to the same problem.

i thought maybe it was imbedded in the map i was using, so i trashed it, totally removed everything again, and installed the earlier version again. no workie. :( wish i didn't trash that cal file now... i had some work in that thing...

anyways, if anyone has any suggestions, that'd be great. i'm unfortunately running windows vista, which would be gone if my hardware supported xp... but anyways... yeah, crappy errors, i can give any other info if needed. thanks in advance,

Load a differnt display template, it sounds like you have a corrupted display template. You can download them from the forum.

In Display menu choose load and then load the display template you wish to use.

ok, i reinstalled 1.3.6.0, and it did the same thing it did on the last reinstall. the program opened right up just fine, the display window opened up, then i loaded a new display file, all worked fine. then i closed the program, reopened it, and back to error-ville.

i'm gonna keep messin with it and see if i can figure it out... i'm sure it has something to do with vista... :x heres a link to a screenshot of whats goin on:

 Its just a thought, but have you tried uninstalling, then when you re-install.. right-click the .exe file and on compatability, use te pulldown box to select "XP service pack 2", then install and see it this corrects the issue.

well, it worked, but only the one first time i opened smanager (from the end of the installation, where it asks if you want to open smanager now). smanager opened up, i opened the display window, it was fine, i loaded the amber dash display file, it loaded fine, i even went ahead and loaded the itr-stock base cal and modified it to my car's needs (made me a basemap), and saved it. then i closed smanager, reopened it, clicked on display, and there came the flock of error windows :( i put it all on my desktop and everything opens up fine (xp on the desktop), so i know it's just gotta me my new ripoff vista laptop :hammer:

i think im gonna try to take some guts out of an old laptop that have xp drivers so i can put xp on this laptop. i hate vista.

DO THIS !

Post by OTT »

but also to note, you installed it in compatability for Xp.

you need to right-click the program file (not a shortcut, the .exe in the hondata program folder) and select compatability and run this program in compatability mode.

You made the setup.exe work in compatability mode, you need to make the actual program now run in compatability mode!

Hopefully that corrects this issue until Hondata release the next update?!
