S2000 Kpro Ignition

Post by JustinC »

Curious as to why the ignition is set to 30deg in the tables but when you do the datalog it reports 25 deg of ignition. Is there a reason it wouldn't follow the tables ?

2005 S2000

Kpro serial number 4923

Where exactly in the datalog are you referring to this (time stamp)?

An example would be around 2:40 at the top of the run...ignition values in the table show 30s and the ignition on the sensors is 25

or around 2:37 at about 5660 rpms the ignition values in the table are around 30 and the ignition value is 17deg

Air temperature retard. 138 degrees sounds high for air temperatures. What IAT sensor are you using?

I am using the one you recommended on the S2000 Page

P/N 37880-P05-A00

This is the same IAT I made a different thread for saying that I thought it was not reporting the correct IATs.

We are still looking into this. It is not a problem with the temp sensor you are using.

As soon as we have more details we will let you know.

The retard is generated when the IAT is over about 100 degrees F, only when VTC is disabled.

Try this calibration (it is your calibration modified to remove the IAT based retard).

We'll add this table to the next release of KManager.

I will try this calibration.

Could one of you two please clarify why this new IAT reads so high. You say it is the proper resistance for the KPRO Ecu but it reads above 100deg even when ambient temperatures are around 70deg. Have you logged the normal IATs on a stock S2000 and then swapped it over and monitored the IATs with this sensor and KPRO ?

I know it is placed in the Intake Manifold instead of the intake piping so is it typical for the IATs to be so high ?

I add about the same issue saturday on the dyno

the IAT sensor recommend read high temp (110-120 on each run)

I installed a fan directly on the Intake manifold, and everything was fine after that
