Calibration

Post by sip »

2003 Ep3 jrsc 4" pulley-jr race header - test pipe - factory injectors - factory cat back - 3" cai

I 'm having trouble getting this figured out. I've loaded the kal file with the 440 inj. Changed to 270, Runs rich throughout but leans out at idle. Getting som knocks I'll load the datalog as soon as I can. But I could use some help.

Thanks

Are you running open or closed loop?

closed will allow the ECU to self correct to target values on partial and light throttle. But reads straight off the map on WOT which may explain it running rich then leaning off.

A datalog and calibration would help.

datalogs and calibration

I'm running closed loop

Here's the cal and 2 partial datalogs - I can't get out to get her opened up. With that knock count I'm not sure I want to anyway.

Can you tell me what car you have exactly? I know you said 2003 EP3 but is it Euro CTR?

Give this a wee try. Pulled 2 degrees pretty much from 1500-4500 on all cam angles to see if it'll help.

Your fuelling can do with work too but we'll try get rid of your knock first.

Fonz

Here's a short datalog after loading your calibration. I have to go back to work but I'll check back later. Thanks for your help.

Your knock is pretty much in the same areas. I've pulled another couple of degrees but can you check your spark plugs and generally make sure everything on the charger is tight etc.

Thanks man. I'm puling the plugs tonight. Next week I'm changing the pulley and the belt on the sc. I've another set of plugs for it. Thanks again for your help. My air fuel leans out a bit here and there. Should I worry about that?

If it is on WOT I recommend keeping your fuel between 11.7-12.

What pulley you changing too?

Also I forgot to say, you may want to uprate your injectors if your going for a smaller pulley.

here's a new datalog. same thing. I wonder if it isn't some phantom knock. I'm going to upgrade the injectors too. See what you think. The plugs looked good. Everything else appears to be tight. The belt does need replacement, but I will do that when I change the pulley. I'm not sure about the pulley size. I think it's 3.8".

Thanks again

I think you may be suffering from ghost knock. What fuel are you using?
Try this. I've pulled 3 degrees from columns 8-13 from 2k up on all cam angles.
If that doesn't reduce your knock at all I'd be starting to think you have ghost knock.
