Bogging down only when shifting Fast.
Bogging down only when shifting Fast.
Hey guys..
My setup is:
D16Z6 Block (with Eagle Rods and YCP pistons), D16Y8 Everything else, and B18B throttle body...
Now, Something happened after I built the motor. Before the motor was built.. I'd have no problems shifting fast at all.. But now that it's built, and when it was N/A, I can't shift fast, and mash the throttle because the car just falls on it's face, I can Hold the throttle down while shifting from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th and it won't bog... Now, nothing was changed from the unbuilt motor to the built motor, Just the Fuel Tables.
And Now that it's boosted, running 8psi on a GT2871R, It's still doing it... i need to figure out what the problem is.. and I'll post up some more information tomorrow... But I was just curious if this has happened to anyone else, and what they did to fix it.
Also, I tryed Adjusting my TPS Through S300, and That helped a little bit, but the problem is still there.
ALSO, A friend of mine has a Fully built B16A, and It's doing the same thing. Dying right out on fast shifts
Anyway.. I'll post a Datalog and the setup tomorrow when I get home from work...

Did I not mention that it does this 'bogging' when it was in near stock form, Without a Turbo?Spunkster wrote:It sounds like you need to have it tuned properly on the dyno.
Are there any other reasons why this might happen, other than "getting it dyno tuned", since that has near nothing to do with this...
So what you're saying is, you can flat shift without it bogging?Funbar wrote:I can Hold the throttle down while shifting from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th and it won't bog
I have the same 'problem' however I've narrowed it down to a very touchy launch control/clutch switch and/or a slow clutch foot.
Try disabling your full throttle shift option and try fast shifting without flat shifting :)
I'm not running the full throttle shift option..Ebola_One wrote:So what you're saying is, you can flat shift without it bogging?Funbar wrote:I can Hold the throttle down while shifting from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th and it won't bog

I'll post the attachments and calibrations tomorrow.. I haven't had time to transfer the files over... :?
So.. Here are the Files...
- 1998 Honda Civic
- Converted P06 (VTEC) and PWM Boost option.
- D16Z6 Block, Eagle 'ESP' H-Beams, YCP Vitara Pistons, D16Y8 Head, Intake Manifold, and Tranny.
- Bogging when Shifting Fast, Seems only to happen when the throttle is completely released... doesn't happen when throttle is held.
Calibration and Datalog are Included...
Thanks for the help guys...
Oh, and Another thing... When I was viewing my data log... It seems like it needs more increments when viewing the log.. Seems too 'twitchy' If you will... Needs to be more precise.. If there is a way to do that, I'll go get another log file.
Thanks Again.

The laptop is fairly old... So.. But yeah.. I'll try that today.. and I'll let you guys know how it goes..Hondata wrote:Under 'Ignition Compensation' reduce the tip in retard under 'TPS Adjustment'. Try as low as -100 for all the gears to see if there is a change.
The sample rate is very low datalogging - it could be the laptop.
Yeah,.. That didn't do a thing... I'll try and get a better Datalog today...Hondata wrote:Under 'Ignition Compensation' reduce the tip in retard under 'TPS Adjustment'. Try as low as -100 for all the gears to see if there is a change.
