car tune gets rich at idle

Post by jcothren »

I have not changes the tune for 15000 mi and has alway idle at 14.5 and now will hit 14.5 for sec and then drop slow to 11.5 (after the car is warm) dont have wide band hooked up to the car and just got new sensor.
I have checked the map and the iat and the seem to be fine. The car runs fine when its not idleing And still holds good A/F under boost.

If you don't have a wideband hooked up, how do you know what the AF is?

when runing at 14.5 the inj (ms) reads 1.50s and when it gets rich it startes to read 1.70s (ms) on the display.

Do you think it could be a blown head gaskit?

Impossible to tell from a calibration. You really need to do a leak down and compression test.

just did compression test 175,175, 180, 180, and then was looking down to the cylinder and seen a little puttle on the piston. i took a q tip and let it soke up and it was water.

I have same trouble with new version of Smanager, when engine is warm & im going to Open Loop AFR going to 11. I have tried B16 stock map too on my B16 & same thing. :( With older version all was fine. I'm using 2 lambda: stock lambda on D14 & LC1 on D12. Where is trouble? At Closed Loop it working normally, Ltrim is 0%, Strim is not big too. Fuel tables are not so reach.
