Cancel VTC

Post by L_S_i »

Hey there. I wonder if its possible to cancel VTC in a PRA Kpro in order to use some jun camshafts since jun itself recomends the canceling of vtc, either in kmanager or with the use of a cam sprocket. I already set both vtc maps to 0 but i had a vtc error code. Thanks.

To prevent possible damage you should run a cam gear which disables the VTC as well.

Just disabling vtc does not mean that the cam cannot still be moved. If you have an engine setup in which there could be valve to valve or valve to piston clearance issues then you should get a cam gear that removes the variable cam.

Ok, ill consider it, altough i should be ok, theres no reason for the intake cam to move with vtc disabled.... valve to piston clearence issues are the same in every engine, with no advance or retard in a cam i dont see a reason to be worried. Only if the k intake cam sprocket is defected. Thanks.
