JDM H22A ECU

Post by James Czubak »

I recently installed a 96 H22A JDM VTEC motor into my 92 accord, they gave me aOBD1 ECU with this engine. I also swaped a 5 speed with my conversion. Everything works fine except the motor runs at 2500 RPM until I come to a stop. Than it returns to normal RPM. Also my VTEC doesnt work. The ECU I have is a P13. Can this ECU be reprogramed, Is the fast idle problem due to my stock 92 fuel pump? The ECU gives a 22 code, this indicates a nonworking VTEC sensor. How can I check this sensor to see if its defective ?

just from my experience with d16's, sounds to me like the dashpot diaphragm on the intake has a leak in it or is just malfunctioning. I am not even sure that your engine has a dashpot on it, but the same symptoms occured on my d16 and that was the culprit.

i would remove the VTEC solenoid and pressure switch and clean them thouroughly. Brake parts cleaner works great and make sure to remove the small screen filter and clean it good. be sure to put a small amount of oil around the o ring to make sure no oil leaks when you remount it to the head. Clear your codes and start er up... see what happens

But more than likely it's the ecu... sounds like it anyway
