Running an OBD2 logger w/ KPro

Post by PsyKotyk »

Hi Hondata smarties,

I'm running an ELM327 CanBus OBD-2 reader with my K-Pro for the purposes of doing some digital gauges on the in-car computer. ( in Linux )

I was just wondering if plugging the OBD-2 reader in causes the ECU to go into open loop mode or not. There seems to be a distinct change in idle pitch when I unplug it.

I'd love if there was an SDK or tech info for getting the values straight from the K-Pro connection, but I also understand that it's probably your most valuable intellectual property and the only thing keeping people from making knock offs.

You will have to check with whoever makes that to see if they short the service check pins in the Diagnostic Connector.

OBDII scanners based on the ELM327 chip do not short the SCS.
