Would it be possible that when my calibration is set to stay in OPEN LOOP, when started from cold it will never allow VTEC to engage?
I am asking this as when I have the calibration set with CLOSED LOOP enabled the VTEC works fine when started from cold. Perhaps this is because the car goes into CLOSED LOOP once warmed up a bit. Unfortunately I get a bad hesitation that seems to happen when switching between CLOSED and OPEN LOOP.
Does the ECU have to go into CLOSED LOOP once before it lets the VTEC engage when started from cold?
I know this sounds a bit strange....but true (datalog attached from this evening's gentle drive showing VTEC working fine, closed loop ticked with Max MAP at 50kPa[experimental reasons])....
Vtec Problem after k-pro installation and tunning
Ah...that makes sense. I did notice that I had to change the Max MAP to 0 to make sure it never went into closed loop whether the box was ticked ot not.Spunkster wrote:Do not disable closed loop in a PRA calibration as it does nto work. TO disable closed loop you must change the map parameters so that you are always in open loop.
Am I correct in assuming that if I tick closed loop and set the Max MAP to 0kPa, this will have the same effect as unticking closed loop at 0kPa? Is it worth me trying a run with datalog this way to see if I still have the VTEC engagement problem?

I set my car back to normal, with closed loop at max 87kPa.
I had the hesitation a few times but I noted that one time it occurred just as the VTEC was engaging at 17:50 on the attached datalog.
Any ideas why? Any help would be fantastic!
