How to disable the O2 sensor for racing header on KPro?

Post by Toto »

I will be installing a racing header and I heard KPro could disable the O2 sensor to remove the CEL. Do I just check the "Disbale P0134 (O2 sensor response)" box to eliminate the CEL? Will I still need a defouler with the KPro to prevent the CEL? Thanks!

You'll need to disable obd2, not the primary sensor.

Is it better to use a defouler and leave the OBDII on? What is the catch of disabling the OBDII? Thanks!

IT would be better to just disable OBD2, there is no catch.

Does OBDII scanning also check sensors' malfunctions? But I am not sure which sensors it checks. If it is disabled, how can we tell if all the sensors are functioning poperly? What happen if one of the sensors malfunction with no CEL due to the ODBII disabling? Would this hurt the engine if we keep driving and rev high? Thanks!

Disabling OBD2 only disables emissions related errors.

I have been running for 43k miles with OBDII disabled and have never had a problem. I had the car tuned with it off and have never looked back. you will not damage anything or miss out on any important sensors or warnings.
