Thought just crossed my mind. Since the kpro can trim short term fuel, if the car is setup for E85 and you get in a bind and can't make it to an e85 station will it be able to trim for pure gasoline so you can pump a little gas to make it to the e85 station and still be driveable? Reason it crossed my mind is e85 takes roughly 30% more fuel. I've noticed when my car was on a base map that the kpro was trimming up to 20% on the short term. Am I looking at things all wrong?

You would be much better off uploading a different calibration for this to make sure you do not damage your engine.

Of course a different calibration is best. I'm just thinking of 'what if' I run out of gas and there's a station 100 yards from me that only has regular gasoline. The e85 station is 30 miles away. Can I possibly put the gasoline in and baby the car to the e85 station. I don't carry my laptop on me at all times. Was just a thought that popped into my head. Not saying that I plan on doing it. I usually fill up by 1/4 tank so I avoid a situation like that. But you never know, stuff happens.

If you have your E85 tune set up to run closed loop at lower manifold pressures you should be OK. In closed loop, the AF sensor will compensate for the different amount of fuel needed and it will run fine.

In open loop, you will be too rich running unleaded gas and there is the slight issue of going from 105 octane E85 to 91/93 octane 'premium' - so you'll definitely want to keep your foot out of it if you are FI.

I have a couple different tunes for E85 and for premium gas, but so far - with a little planning and luck, I've been on E85 for over a year and not had to swap back
