Boost Control Settings

Post by edhgreatone »

Hello I have a USDM 2002 Acura Rsx Type S running with a greddy turbo kit and krpo street tuned. Due to lack of traction I decided to install the gm solenoid to lower boost in lower gears. Heres my situation okay heres the deal i installed the solenoid hooked up the wires and everything is working great, did a couple test runs at a fixed duty cycle of 10% and it peaked around 7.6-7.8 psi... did a second run with fixed duty cycle at 30% and hit around 8.8 psi.... so obviously my solenoid is working correctly... now question is:

when going to boost bt gear obvoiusly go to -> paramenters -> boost control -> then change "fixed duty cyle" to "gear based duty cylce" and then i'm lost from there... do i adjust the pressure vs duty cylce? and with the low setting versus high setting do i just make them the same? for the low/high boost control do I check always on or always off (i will not be using a switch)? what I want is 7psi 1st gear 8psi 2nd gear and 10psi for the rest.... i'm just confused on where to go from here... i know what duty cylce % i need each gear to be but I am confused on making the correct settings... also I heard that setting your cycle to 0% or 100% is bad for the solenoid is this true?

Go to Help at the top of Kmanager and click on Contents. Do a search for "boost control" and read the boost control parameters section.

You must properly setup the pressure vs. duty cycle table.
