s200 help.....Please help with my setup

Post by RNPoo7 »

Hey guys, I did a ton of major research about my topic .
I got everything I thougth i need to complete my setup.

I plan on running a Greddy TD04H-15G Turbo on my D16Y8..
I'm getting OBDI and the OBD2 to OBD1 harness.
My plan is be running about 12 psi

My question is:
When I buy the Hondata s200. Do I need anything else to run my turbo, like all those features that the s200 offers or the s200 will do by ifself.

I read many posts but I am not quite sure exactly what I am suppose to do.

I'm getting the ecu tuned by a shop.

I forgot to say that I'm a newbee to this forum. I think i posted this in the right place, if not , please direct me to the right location.
Thank you in advance.

If you don't like to make changes and tunning yourself, you have 2 choice:

1) S100 with boost option.
2) S200 with boost option.

The S200 option have more feactures (launch, etc.), but you can make the choice/

OK, so here it is.
I understand now that I need either the s100 or s200 with boost.

I am trying to decide between the s100 and s200 for my setup.
Would it be better to get the s200 with all these features listed below

3 step rev limiter
Datalogging capability
G Sensor module.
ROM Editor V3
Romulator realtime emulator.

or would a s100 run my setup pretty well.
Please help me understand what would be better and why.

thanks for your help in advance.

The S-100 is enought for you (or other people with a boost honda), but the S-200 feactures are pretty nice if:

> 3 step rev limiter: for launch and full trothle shift
> Datalogging capability: if you like to tune yourself the car
> G Sensor module: nice if you like to tune yourself the car
> ROM Editor V3: if you like to tune yourself the car
> Romulator realtime emulator: if you like to tune yourself the car

as you can see, the question here is: do you like to can tune yourself the car? if the ansver is yes, your option is the S-200 if the ansver is no, your option is the S-100.

Don't you also need a new MAP sensor? Doesn't the stock MAP top off at some low boost level? Just checked and the stock one max's out at 11psi according to Hondata's site.

The stock sensor does indeed max out at 11 psi. Most people wouldn't consider this low boost though. :)

That's true ... I came from DSMs and 11 psi is pretty low. Usually 20-25psi is the norm depending on what turbo. I forget these B series motors are high compression.

To answer the original question, if you are getting the system tuned by a shop then I second the S100.

Yah, I guess I am going to need to change my map sensor. Hondata says that it handles up to 28 psi.

I was wondering how do I change it...Is that an upgrade on the hondata s200 ? or is it a totally different system?
thanks

The GM 3Bar MAP sensor upgrade is just a different MAP sensor that you install. You can buy the MAP sensor from GMbuypartsdirect.com or something like that. All you need to do is wire up 5VDC and GND to power the sensor and then splice the Vout (sensor signal to your stock MAP sensor wire) and voila! Now you have an upgraded MAP sensor that can read crazy boost! This is something separate and does not come with any of the Hondata systems.
