Can I use the S300 on a 94-97 Accord Vtec.....Automatic car?

Post by hiperformance »

My question:

Say I have a 1994-97 Accord F22 vtec and it has an automatic transmission. If I am not mistaken, the accord has 2 computers, one that controls the engine and the other that controls the transmission. (or am I wrong?) If I am correct, couldn't I use the S300 to control the engine and leave the oem trans computer to control the trans?

Now regarding the EG/EK/DC chassis with the automatic. Can the duties be split? use the S300 to control the engine as a piggy back and leave the oem ecu in place to control the transmission?

Questions stemmed by several people that drive automatics who want some added performance, such as turbocharging but need a means of management.

Thanks

The s300 will not work with an automatic. You may be able to try to use 2 ecu's, but it is not recommended or supported. More than likely it will still not work correctly.

We are going to try it. The plan is to use the S300 to control the engine and a stand alone programmable transmission computer to control the trans. Will see how it works..
