Boost Control Manual A/C Switch

Post by Dunc »

Sorry, I always search before posting but I don't have time tonight (wink wink haha).

Question: I am going to be installing the switch that will activate the secondary tables along with controlling high/low boost settings. I plan to wire it into the B5 A/C wire from the ECU. I heard that I will need a 5V switch. Is this true or can I use a normal 12V switch? Thanks guys.

No, any switch will work.

I heard = hearsay.
5V switch = imaginary.

Thanks! I might as well double check all my information that I was told. This is how I was told to wire the switch:
"to the question - the ECU outputs 4-5v from B5, all you have to do is run a wire from b5 to the switch and ground the other side of the switch. So if you want to buy a light up switch buy a 5v one."

Is that correct besides for the 5V switch part?

Ok, I understand. You usually are switching the input to ground, so the power for any light in a switch will need come come from the vehicle, not the ECU.

Correct? I figure I would be double sure since it's the ECU haha. If it matters it is an OBD1 P28 ECU on a '97 Integra LS/VTEC.

You have a power and a ground and a load.

makes LED's do this

B5-SWITCH-GROUND is the config to select the higher boost tables?

Also with the idea of using the AC switch... what would you disconnect from it?? 'Accessory' feed?? then connect B5 to where Accessory feed WAS. ... would this illuminate the switch when it was clicked in??

cheers

I also have be wondering about this. I had AC but I removed it to fit my turbo in. if i hit the AC button in the cabin it lights up but when i check on my laptop the ac still says off. How can I get the cabin ac button to reach the ecu?

You will have to rewire it and run a wire to the ecu input you wish to use.
