CEL: code 43

prelude 290cc injectors
hondata s200 (set for 290cc injectors, and the above mods - a friend with an identical setup made 191 whp)

Problem:

Car seems to run very rich. Makes more power from 6k to 8k than my p73 dyno tuned with a vafc. Less power from 4k to 5300 though..... :/

Mileage has increased from 200 miles per tank to 240 miles per tank.

Upon driving with the a/c on in stop and go traffic or simply idling, the cel comes on. Jumping the code reveals it's 43 "malfunctioning or defective fuel system."

Once the car is shut off, the code goes away - that is until I start it up and drive for 20 minutes or so again.

When I first installed the s200 (p28) about 3 weeks ago, I never had this problem.

Has the car been tuned with the Hondata?

You will have to see what your short term fuel trim is at via datalogging. Typically if short term fuel trim is greater than 20% then you are running too rich and this error will appear.
