atmospheric pressure sensor error code question+other issues

Post by hriday »

Still trying to get the system up and running. I now have a brand new obd 1 p28 ecu and after I cntrl w the rom image, the check engine light remains on and the car won't rev past 3500. I logged the idle and the error codes that are given are atmospheric pressure sensor and fuel injectors. I think that the A.P.S is in the ecu. can this easily be swapped with another from a different p28? I have another ecu on hand that works, but for some reason the car won't start after I cntrl w. It putters for a bit then dies. The new ecu starts the car, but like I said, the check engine light stays on and the car only revs to 3500. I am running 1100 cc injectors and we've had the car running before with the old rom emulator, but have been unsuccessful with the real time tuning. I am putting the 240 cc injectors back in without the injector impedence box in place like stock to see if that solves the injector problem. A.P.S error code is my next problem. Does anyone know if that is an easy fix or should I try a completely new ecu? would the combination of those two error codes cause the computer to go to limp mode because I'm sure that's what I'm in right now. I am using a IBM thinkpad with win 98 currently and have also tried a laptop with xp but couldn't even get the car to start with xp. This system was supposed to make for an easy install, but I've had nothing but trouble from the beginning. These issues are not the first of our problems, but we are not giving up. I WILL see the system work!!

Yes it is in the ECU, and no, it can't

Ok, like what is the code number? is it for injector drivers? Do you have the right impedance? Injector size has nothing to do with codes, only the impedance for the driver...

Absolutely a APS will throw you into limp, not sure what injector code... I have not used a romulator, just emulator... but I know you have to turn the car off for the emulator. Does it do this when you burn a chip?

Injector error

Post by Hondata »

If the check engine light stays on solid, or the light on the s200 flashes, don't start the car. First find out why the check engine light is on. In this case it sounds like it is the fuel injector wiring, or injectors themselves.

The injector error will throw the ECU in 3200 rpm limp mode. With 1100 cc injectors, the car will not run. The PA sensor error code is not as critical, as it will not put the ECU into the 3200 rpm limp mode, but is unusual to see except in a P30-G ECU.

I'll try that in the morning with the wiring and all, but I hope it works soon because we a inches away from purchasing a standalone system.
