ReTuning Built D16 - Start and Idle - Need some advise >&

Post by platinum00 »

I need some assistance ReTuning my Built D16y8.

Car is currently tuned on an S200, making 424whp/365wtq. Had that tune for a year or so. Nothing wrong with the car, it runs fine.

Kinda bored with the setup and decided I should learn how to tune. I purchased an S300 already socketed in a P28. Im runing the included stock P28 basemap that I modifed for the GM 3 Bar and RC750cc's. Nothing else was changed on the base.

The car bairly starts and only idles for a few momemnts if I give it just a touch of gas. Using an LC-1 Wideband reading vary lean, around 24 A/F. Tried adjusting the overall fuel trim from various increments of 1-100% with no luck. Same A/F. I do get some response if I increase the fuel table in the RPM range it's trying to idle in (1000-2500), but it still wont get better then say 19.5-22 A/F.

I got to be missing something. I know the timing from the P28 Z6 is different then the Y8 but I did not think it would make this much of a difference.

help me out...

Keep making changes to the fuel trim settings until you start seeing it have the right AF ratios. Make sure you have realtime update on.

thanks spunkster.

can you go over 100% on the fuel trim. From what i have seen most use 20-40% maybe. I thought I was missing something since i was already so high.

I will try again. thanks
