S300 P28 into a 93 vx???

Post by picnic_george »

From what I've read the only real difference is the 5 wire o2 sensor. Will this sensor work at all with a p28? Would it require something simple? Disable heater and/or set o2 values? Or no if ands or buts about it have to convert to a 4 wire?
If there are any other differences this would be greatly appreciated. The car is almost done and I would like this to go as easy as possible and still be able to run closed loop.
We are using the VX engine harness as well.

TIA Kris

I can't tell you what may need to be changed in the engine harness, but you should be able to talk to a shop familiar with engine swaps and they can help with that. As far as the 02 sensor is concerned, you must convert to a 4 wire sensor and will need to run new wires to the ecu. The 5 wire cannot be used.

have you found out anything on that 5 wire to 4 wire conversion at all, i did it with the vx harness but i have a check engine light on that i can't check, read below.
Mine is the driving me crazy, i jump for codes and the check engine light goes off and the srs light starts blinking constantly and never stops.
94 vx with n/a type r, how can i read the code if it goes out?
