tuning for changing elevation

Post by rensoyka »

The Honda ECU incorporates a barosensor. I assume that this sensor compensates for fuel and/or ignition as the pressure rises and falls, whether it's from elevation changes or weather changes. Does anyone know if this feature is disabled in K-proed ECUs. I know that the knock tables are gone, and I am wondering about tuning changes. I usually operate between 800 and 1000 ft MSL. If I went down to sea level or up to 2000 ft. would I have issues that require adjusting the tune? I know that last year I was operating at sea level during vacation and had some knocks at WOT that I had to tune out, but I thought that it was because of lower octane gas, I could only get 91 and I always use 94. Ideas?

MAP based system are inherently compensated for altitude. It is important when tuning to tune fuel by row so that the table do not get a 'step' in them. Knock tables are gone?
