vtec solenoid

i am pulling cel code #21. how can i check if the vtec solenoid is good or bad :evil: ?

to anyone who will help. thank you!
92 integra, usdm b16a, obd-I p 30.

hey man, i ran into a few problems with my vtec to, i thought it wasnt working at all because i couldnt hear it all that loud, but u can take it off your head and teh sensor clip ans teh prongs so that u can to a positive/negative check and it should click if its good, thats the way i checked mine anyways

check the wire mesh filter also. if that gets clogged, oil can't pass through to engage your cam lobes. try using a 5w-30 oil, per the manual will help. i have seen people using thicker oil have problems with their vtec engaging.

Clogged VTEC Solenoid Filter

I have had to take the VTEC solenoid and pressure switch off the head before and clean it. I used ChemTool(brake cleaner basically), removed the filter screen and soaked it in chemtool. Sprayed the inside of the solenoid and pressure switch several times. Coat the o ring with oil before you put it back on.
