- specific description of problem: on the KAL I'm using, it's setup to flash the MIL light when it detects knock, the only time I get "significant" knock indications is when I'm at normal driving conditions (50-70mph), from 2k rpm to 3k rpm, above 3K the MIL light stops flashing.
When I did the 3rd gear pull, by itself, I only noticed a couple of spots of what appeared to be knock, but when I did the DL with the shift into 4th through 6th gear, it kept recording while I shifted to 6th and that's where I noticed all the knock in 6th gear from 50mph to 70 mph.
The only thing I've really messed with on the KAL is under "Parameters" "Fuel Trim" tab, I changed the "Overall Fuel Trim" to 2%, not sure if I really did anything there, and under the "Idle" tab, bumped the Duty Cycle adjustment a couple of notches to the right to keep it from stalling.
I've included 2 DL's (3rd Gear Pull) and (3rd Gear Pull with shift to 4th)
Would love to know what you guys see.
Thanks,
Will

Thank You very much for the reply!!!!!!!!!!..........Hondata wrote:There is knock under boost. Reduce the ignition timing under boost.
Your fuel tables need tuning - the long term trim should not get to -11%.
2 quick questions....
1. is the car Ok to drive under NORMAL driving (I.E. not getting stupid with it) ??
2. any recommendations on a good shop in the South Florida area that I can take the car too, to get it tuned correctly???? The required changes needed are way out of my experience.
Thanks Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will
Thank You very much for the reply!!!!!!!!! and awesome site all the way around I do a ton of research on here.......practically live on this site whether logged in or not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Hondata wrote:I'd recommend not going into boost before the car is tuned.
A long term fuel trim of -11% indicates that the fuel tables are generally too rich out of boost.
Thanks Again,
Will

I was looking at his map just to get some general knowledge on the system.
I am seeing that his cam angles are locked in at 50 for the time he is in boost, is this safe and would that also play into the fact that he is having some knock reading? Or is that just because of the fact that he is a little too aggressive on the high cam timing?
I also did notice that he is running a bit rich on top as well especially for a SC.
