What are potential hazards from messin with VTEC

Post by My2004RSX »

What's Up Guys!!! New here and new to the tuning scene, got a question.......my car is '04 RSX Type-S with the comptech supercharger, 3.15 pulley, IPS KSC Cams, RSC 650 CC injectors, a High Pressure 255LPH Wahlbro FP, and a Comptech 2.5 Full Race Header and Exhaust.......I loaded up the K20A2 JRSC 650 CC Kal, car runs very nice with this KAL....... and while nosing around on the parameters page of the Kal, looking at the VTEC portion, The Kal sets the VTEC at
(start) 4000 @ 98 KPA and (upper end) 5500 @ 98 KPA.........first off, I have no clue what the 98 KPA is and secondly, if I were to raise the upper end of VTEC to a higher RPM, what are the hazards of doing this??
I have plans on getting the car professionally tuned, but in the meantime, I would like to educate myself a little with the tuning program
Any feedback greatly appreciated
Thanks,
Will

you can adjust the setting to read PSI instead of kpa. there is no hazard to run upper rpm if you have a the correct base tune with the right set up. You just wont have maxium power and effeciency.
