No S.Trim or L.Trim reading in SManager

Post by JT »

I have just installed the s300 in a P72 ECU and everything seems to be working flawlessly, except there is no reading from the S.Trim or L.Trim under the Sensors property screen.

I have connected a FJO wideband to the a-pipe and the analog output to the O2 sensor input. There is also an external A/F display connected to the FJO controller. SManager is registering O2 voltage, AF ratio and all other sensors correctly. I have tested in both closed-loop and open-loop modes.

I'm wondering if the S.Trim reading will only work under certain condtion and I'm just missing some very simple configuration steps? I have used the same FJO setup with my stage4 and s200 units without any problems reading the S.Trim/L.Trim values. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Some info below.

93 Prelude with H22a
All stock components, no mods yet

Map:
H22 base map, adjusted injector size to 345cc, overall fuel trim to 0%. Only tuning the low cam fuel table for the time being.

s300:
Hardware Version - 0.01
Serial Number - 03304
Firmware Version - 1.03
Software Version - 1.29

Does datalogging show it is running in closed loop?

The FJO only has a wideband output, so you cannot run in closed loop and get proper long and short term fuel trim values. All you can do is set it up to monitor the AF ratio. When you are done tuning in open loop, you will need to remove the FJO and reinstall the narrowband O2 sensor to run closed loop.

Thanks for the quick replies. I will double check the datalog and switching back to the narrowband O2 sensor to verify.

Just a follow up that after switching back to the narrowband O2 sensor, the s.trim and l.trim reading are working correctly. I keep forgetting that after finished tuning, I usually switch back to the narrowband but kept the wideband connected to a secondary O2 bung to run the external AF display. That explains why I was able to see the s.trim, l.trim and wideband AF simultaneously with the previous Hondata setup. Thanks again for the help.
