My primary concern is to keep my OBD-II functionality (in Part 1 and Part 2) if possible.
Part 1:
I've got a spun bearing in my RSX-S. I picked up an 06 Civic Si engine. Will everything work if I bolt my K20A2 tranny to the K20Z3 engine. I'm want to keep the K20Z3 head on the K20Z3 block to reduce my workload. I have a RBC IM adapter. Is this a simple drop-in?
Is the crank position sensor in the K20Z3 the same as a K20A2? I seem to recall hearing that the crank position sensor needed to be swapped with some K24 swaps.
Part 2:
Once I have my RSX-S block fixed, I plan on putting it back in the RSX-S. The K20Z3 will then be dropped into a Del Sol. The previous owner really messed up the wiring. So, assume that it'll be replaced with 96-97 wiring (OBD-II).
I don't have a second transmission that uses the lower frequency VSS. I realize the K20Z3 tranny has a different shift arm and shifts "backwards" in addition to using the high frequency VSS. I've considered using the TSX/Fit or 06 Civic Si shifter and cables. If I used a VSS converter box to convert to low frequency (and compensate for tire size), can I still use my 02-04 K-Pro with this without upgrading it to the 05-06 application with adapter harness?
Will OBD-II continue to work?
If I do not have a converter box, can I still run using the constant speed setting in K-Pro?

No one should use the adapter harness and 05 adapted ecu unless it is going into an 05 or 06 RSX. You might just be better off selling the transmission and getting an 02-04 transmission for the swap. OBD2 will still be functional, but we cannot promise you will pass an inspection as it is for offroad use only.

Heh, I knew you'd say that. I totally get that too. It's just the factory LSD is too tempting to give up. I tried to look for the external transmission casing too for the 02-04. No luck unless I wanted to buy another full tranny.
I'm trying to avoid the adapter harness and 05 adapted ECU. If I had some sort of blackbox or something to convert the VSS signal to low frequency before it gets to K-Pro, would K-Pro be all happy with that?
And assume I don't care about getting my speed reading just so I can go and enjoy the car for a while... Will that constant speed setting be all I need to get everything running? I seem to recall you need to set that for VTEC to kick in.

No, you must have a proper VSS reading from the transmission. Trying to use the 05 K-Pro will just further complicate your problems. You need the wiring harness from an 02-04 RSX Type S, o2 sensor from an 02-04 RSX, and transmission case with standard 4 pulse speed sensor. As you already know you can swap the internals from your SI transmission into an 02-04 case and that will also require some additional parts and bearings.
