Hi all, I've been trying to find an answer for this question, since I'm considering K-Pro.
I have an 05-S. I've read about the problems some people are experiencing with the VSS, in regards to needle bounce, and cruise control. I've done a bunch of reading, and here's what I understand:
On the 02-04 RSX, the VSS is low-frequency, and sends the signal to both the ECU and the gauge cluster.
On the 05+ RSX, the VSS is high frequency, and sends the signal to the ECU, which converts it to low, and passes it along to the gauge cluster.
This makes me assume that the gauge cluster is not set up on the 05+ to receive a signal directly from the VSS, and as such, K-Pro has been made to handle the conversion when applied to an 05 RSX.
I read on the main Hondata site that you can put an 05 Trans in to an 04 shell, and convert the VSS to the low frequency type.
Now for my question - could something similar be done on an 05 trans, in an 05 car? I am thinking that I could change the VSS on my 05, pipe that low frequency signal to the ECU via the standard wiring, and have the ECU pass that signal directly to the gauge cluster. No conversion, everything is low frequency, and it *should* eliminate the needle bounce and cruise problems, is that correct?
I haven't seen any evidence of anyone doing this, and all the 05 owners I've spoken with about K-Pro said they just deal with it. Personally, I don't want to "deal with it" so I don't mind swapping out VSSs if the process would work. Input?
Thanks in advance.
