LS/VTEC CEL at 7500 - P28 chipped S200
OK, if i couldnt cram it all in the title lol, i just had an ls/vtec swap put into my car, stock b18b1 bottom end with a b16 head, with type-r cams and valvetrain. Its running on a p28 ecu chipped with Hondata s200. I just recently got a basemap loaded and it seems to be working fine besides the fact its running rich from too big of injectors. anyways, vtec kicks in amazingly at 5900 (i know too late but ill fix that later), but basically when i hit 7500rpm, the cel comes on but as soon as i shift / clutch so that the rpms drop below 7500, the cel goes away. To my knoledge the previous owner didnt have a shift light enabled, and even if he did the new baesmap would have cleared that away. Somebody told me that they thought they heard somebody tell them that with s200, it detects when the engine is knocking and puts the cel on when its knocking, i guess that would make sense because at 7500 rpm thats just over the limit of the stock bottom end. I am confused though because when i got the basemap put on, the engine was throwing a cel for the knock sensor so my tuner disabled the knock sensor to stop the code. So my question is, what is going on here? is it something i should worry about? i do not plan on taking it over 7200 rpm but whats going on here?
