Perhaps I need some insight on how to setup my nitrous parameters instead, but do you guys plan on bringing back the ramp time?
The current configuration to set when the ignition advance comes on works great on the dyno, and perhaps in a drag racing application. Water has time to come on, even if it takes a second to fully come to pressure.
However, since I'm turbo'd, and where WOT while hanging in 3rd gear at 5k will cause some insane knocks --> knocks that were not previously there since the water has had time to pressurize the line and begin spraying.
The parameters will be met, speed, TPS, boost (since it pretty much shoots to 10+psi nearly instantly) so the ignition will advance really quickly.
Any tips on how to set up my parameters better to combat this situation? or am I really going to have to find another place to relocate my pump to.......
Currently i have it:
Nitrous 1:
speed 50mph
engine speed- 5.5k
TPS- 90-110%
Between 8-20psi
Ignition starts to advance nearly 3.5-4 degrees around 5300.. fuel reduction as well.
Nitrous 2:
speed 10-150
engine speed 3500-8000
TPS- 35-110%
Between 0-20psi
No ignition advance, just fuel reduction.
Nitro2 mostly there for those part throttle almost romping situations.
To be honest trying to tune for this has been a bitch and a half.. i cant get rid of the knocks for the life of me.
Consider when it happens: imagine freeway racing.. drop to 3rd gear at 6k, hover in gear for a second (maybe -15in/hg) then WOT, turbo spools up instantly, parameters for nitro 1 are met, ign advance is instant while the water isnt quite there yet.
