The engine management is terrible, the piggy backs dont talk to each other and i dont like it at all.
So i am about to do it properly and ditch it all and upgrade to a Hondata S300 and convert the car to OBD1 but first I have a few questions.
1. Can I use a JDM P29 ECU with the Hondata components? (It is the OBD1 version of the PM7 tune which is used in JDm EG5 civics to run the OBD1 dohc ZC)
2. Can the JDM square-case P29 be modified for boost control?
Here is a pic of the guts of the P29 ecu if you can tell by just looking at it.....

3. If the P29 can not be used, can i run a USDM ecu, say a P28 in my JDM car? Could I buy one on e-bay in the US, have it sent to Hondata for the boost modification and fitting and then get it mailed to me in NZ?
4. Can I use a 3-port Denso boost control solenoid from a WRX Subaru with the S300? (it is an earth-switched device not power-activated)

5. Or would it be easier to avoid the S300 boost control and use an external boost contoller?
I kind of want to keep it simple as possible though and I'm not keen on a whole raft of controllers like I have now. I like the KISS theory :)
6. I have read about the S300 having dual tables for different octane fuels and both hot and cold boost settings, can these functions be used instead to have two selectable boost limits for road and race driving or is it best to upload the appropriate tune prior to driving it with Smanager depending on how and where the car would be driven. (it is still road-registered and road legal and I dont want to be giving it 25psi of boost during transit or road use in traffic ;) )
Ideally i want two settings, low-boost economy and high-boost high-power.
7. Is a MAC OS10 version of SManager planned for the near future?
8. I have an OBD1 distributer already so thats ok but I was wondering about the OBD1 o2 sensor, apparently hondata use a 4 wire pre-heated but the OBD1 P29 ZC just uses a single wire. Will this be ok with the S300 or will i ned to adapt a 4-wire sensor off a B16a?
9. I plan to retain the OBD0 resistor pack as i am using 560cc mitsubishi EVO 8 injectors. Will plugging a OBD0 to OBD1 harness converter work fine with the resister box or will I have to take it off and use high impedence injectors off somthing else?
Sorry for all the questions!
Here is the car for interests sake.
