any body using the mac valve for boost control
just was looking for someone using this solenoid to confirm that i am hooking up the wastegate lines right.i have the bottom port on the wastegate hooked to 1 and the pressure source, 2 hooked to the top wastegate port and 3 open to atmosphere.

The way I had it was correct. I haven't been able to use it yet though. I went the track, but only got 2 runs in. I tried 10% duty cycle on one run and 15% on the other. It only made wastegate boost. Later on, I found out that the solenoid doesn't do anything below 15% or above 90%. I haven't been able to get back to the track since.

Hey, what is with the "dial knob" on the top of the mac valve ? AEM's valve doesnt have this?turbotypeR wrote:The way I had it was correct. I haven't been able to use it yet though. And you mentioned wastegate side to 1, charge source side to 2...
Im confused by this...
Wouldnt a pressure line from the manifold have to "T" off one to one of the inlets on valve and other to bottom wastegate port ? Then the other valve outlet/inlet to the top of the gate ??
Can someone verify this ?
And to make it even more confusing... I have 2 gates..lol

That is not a dial. It is just a piece of plastic. I assume has something to do with the way it is assembled. 1 has a "t" and goes to the pressure source(mine is to the compressor housing) and 2 goes to the top port on the wastegate. If you are using two gates, just "t" it off so both get the same signal.

Re: ??
I'm sorry, I meant to say that 1 goes to the bottom wastegate port and the compressor housing and 2 goes to the top wastegate port.2 0 3 wrote:so when you say 1 has a tee and goes to pressure source...
do you mean from pressure source (comp housing) to the T, then from the T one line goes to wastegate bottom and other goes to MAC valve inlet #1
Thanks
I got it working last night. It worked much better than the GM solenoid. I had to use 50-55% duty cycle before it would do anything. I had to lower the solenoid activation to 10psi as well. I wound up with 50%=20psi,55%=30psi, 65%=32psi, and 70%=35psi.

I am using a .9 bar. It normally makes 15psi on the wastegate, but creeps to 20-25psi. So yes, 20-25psi is the minimum I can run right now. I think my creep is because I am outflowing my wastegate.2 0 3 wrote:curious as to what spring is in your gate?
Your saying you didnt start to see an increase till 50% and @ 50% it was 20psi ... so is 20psi the min amount of boost you can run ?
Thanks, wirirng and plumping mine tonite
