JDM Type R B16B

Post by lcopas »

I would like some advice please.

I have a '97 EX Coupe with a JDM B16B engine using an ECU from a '97 OBDII JDM Type R Civic. The ECU number is 37820-PCT-003.

I would like to use the Hondata S200.

Do I need to use a different ECU and if so, which one?

How will it work with my JDM engine as the JDM Type R engine does not have all the sensors that a domestic engine does, for instance there is no VTEC pressure switch sensor nor a crank fluctuation sensor on the engine?

I figure if I use a domestic ECU, I will get all kinds of ECU codes. :? :? :? :? :?

You can use either the Hondata s100 or s200 system and will need and OBD1 p28 or p72 ecu.

Got the hook up ....

Post by lcopas »

I just spoke to Jim at Motorvations Motorsports ...

He is going to get me the hook up with a modified P28 ECU that will plug right into my cars harness ... and the s200 unit ...

He told me that he can turn off the sensors that I do not need for the B16B engine ...

Whoooo whooo .... :)
