ECU reflash and my mods

I have a question about my application. All I have on my RSX type S (2002) is an Injen High performance intake kit. Will getting the ECU hurt my car or its performance with just one mod?

Is it a cold air intake? In any case, the reflash will improve performance. Even with the stock intake there are significant gains.

It's an Injen Ram air intake, but I have a heatshield that is blocking some of the engines heat. Same location as the stock airbox just open filter wider tubing and heatshield.
