Bad Kpro?

Post by ekhybrid »

Ok sometimes the little green light that you see coming out from the ECU where the kpro goes, does not light up like there is no power. If I touch it with my finger it comes on. Could the board be loose? Also, my car through the check engine light and my car was running wack. The fuel pressure gauge was going haywire. I hooked the laptop to the ecu but it wouldn't let me datalog. WTF? I turned the car off and then on and it went away. It has done this twice already. It seems like everytime I load a map, my fuel pump will not prime or I run into this problem. Can anyone give me advice.

What is the serial number of your K-Pro board? What vehicle is this in?

You could check the KPro to see if the board is loose, but don't over-tighten the screws unless they are loose. We lock-tite them in and normally they are fine.

Don't forget to check the obvious - resistor sparks plugs, good wiring ground on the cylinder head, wiring ground on the engine mount side.

Otherwise I'll take a wild guess and say that your wiring harness doesn't follow the RSX wiring diagram, particularly in the main relay and fuel relay areas. Also it is likely that some of the ground wiring is swapped between logic ground, signal ground and chassis ground, so that you have large current flows through signal shield wires.

The answer is to check your wiring as per http://www.hondata.com/techk20wiring.html
