Could anything in this calibration cause power loss?

Post by ITR 1102 »

On the street the car is perfect.
On the track, I get complete power loss when full throttle at random times. Sometimes it is after a corner, other times it is on a straight.

Power cuts out and the check engine light comes on, but upon releasing the gas pedal and putting it back down, the power is completely restored.
This sounds like boost cut, however it is set to 9 psi cold and hot, and I have a 7 psi pulley on my supercharger. No way I am making 9 psi.

new distributor, new plugs, new wires, not low on oil, no codes stored in ecu.

Help / suggestions / comments?
P.S. I did not have this issue on the track prior to the S300. I had used the S200 and it was flawless until my P28 died.

datalog is too large to post :( Any way to resize it?

You need to datalog when this happens and review the datalog and look for anomalous readings. If it is happeneing only on the track I would assume you are drving the car much harder and might actually be hitting a higher boost level than you think.

I have datalogged when this happens. There are no odd readings and nothing that would indicate a bad sensor. The intake temps get around 220 degrees in spurts, but the boost level never reaches over 156.2 kPa. How do I convert that to psi?

I have a video of the motor cutting out:

As you can see, I am hard on it in second coming out of a corner, shift into third, and then the motor has no power.

I can email the datalog, or perhaps you can tell me how to resize it so that you can see what I am talking about.

There is no way to resize it. If you look at the datalog can you see the REVL on (in sensor list) when it happens?

shouldn't the boost cut be turned on as well when it happens?

I have gone through the datalog several times as thoroughly as I can, and can't find any evidence of boost cut, rev limiter, or engine codes being present.

The charger is coming off in 2 weeks and then the following week I will track the car again. If I still have an issue, I think it will be easier to diagnose with the car in stock form.
