I have a '02 RSX Type-S and have been runnning K-pro for 3 years. I'm selling the car and just recently swapped my K-pro with a local guy and am back to running a stock '02 ECU.
My issue is that I currently have '05 RSX Type-S cams installed. I know that the difference is minimal between the '02 and '05 cams, and if I was keeping the car, I would probably just leave the cams in there and keep an eye on things. However, I'm having some ethical reservations about selling the car to someone else with the '05 cams and '02 ECU. Is this a big deal at all? I'm not worried about performance...only reliability.
Thanks!
Stock '02 RSX-S ECU with '05 RSX-S cams okay??
Yes- I'm well aware of what they are and the ideal situation (which is actually swapping my '02 cams back in, not spending money on a car I'm selling).
My question was aimed a bit beyond the surface information though...
The PRC cams have the same lift but slightly more duration. How exactly will the car respond to this from a reliability standpoint with the stock '02 ecu?
As a mechanical engineer with some IC engine experience, I wouldn't expect it to be a huge deal...not ideal but not particularly risky either. However, I wanted to ask the experts who have the most direct experience with this specific application.
