tech issue please help

Post by 94teggsr »

I have a 90 crx ls vtec turbo. it was on hondata and i had the chasis swapped. the car ran fine until i had the ecu harness rewired by someone else to make it look cleaner. so i had the original shop come out and look at it it was throwing a cyp code so he fixed that and it still wouldnt start. it would throw solid check engine and start with gas pedal pushed in. So he towed it to his shop and swapped s200 boxes ecu's and eventually put the car on a crome base map which the car started and ran fine no check engine lights. Then he took my ecu and put it in another car and it worked fine.?????? What do you think would trip the hondata ecu to not work but the crome does? Sorry for the long post and any help would be aprreciated. I believe he is going to go over all the wiring tomorrow to double check things.

If you get an intermittent signal from the CYL sensor then some ECUs will work and some will not, depending on the tolerance of the components in the ECU. Check the wiring.

fixed the problem. he hooked up the tuning ecu and laptop up and noticed that it was pushing 10lbs of boost at idle. tested the map sensor wirings and somehow when the other person cleaned up the wires he cut the map sensor signal wire. so after rewiring the entire distributor from the ecu, and the whole dp to mp wiring it turned out to be this. :D
