Gear Compensation 00-99civic
Why is it that the settings for the 00-99 civic Si is a 4.266 final drive and not a 4.40? Did hondata take these numbers straight out of the helms manual? Do we have to pick a different transmaission setting for our car?
The Helm manual reports 4.266:1 final drive ratio for the 99 Si. If your car is different, then type the correct final drive ratio number in yourself.

The figures were obtained from the helms manual. If there is doubt to the true final drive ratio you may need to measure the ratio yourself. Jack the front of the car up, mark the tire, put the transmission in gear, then turn over the engine by hand and count both the crank and wheel revolutions. Assuming that the gear ratios as given are correct, then the final drive ratio should be easy enough to find by calculating the overall ratio and dividing by whatever gear you used. Removing the spark plugs will help when turning the engine over.
