I want to know if everything is okay.

Post by BLiNk »

Around 4000 to 6000 rpm it seems to have a big lack of power. it feels like if I let the gaz go and floor it. Could u guys take a look at it. Sumtimes it does huge backfire and the car stall ( NOTE : It didnt do any backfire in this datalog but it did do what I said above )

I bought it and got it tuned at Auto Laminar in ville lasalle ( canada, quebec )

This is a tuned datalog? Your engine knocks and your open loop fuel is way rich unless you are boosted. List your car and mods along with the cal you are using. Also, do a datalog fully in open loop.

The first thing that I would do is check your valve lash. Those stage 3 cams will make a hell of a racket if it's not correct. That could be the "knock" that the datalog is picking up. Otherwise, get the fuel ratio in order then look at the cam angles.

If your car is back-firing, then when you open the cover to check the valve lash, I would double check that the valve timing is exactly correct, that could be the root of most of your troubles. A compression check might also be in order. Get all the mechanical issues addressed first, then worry about tuning.

The cal is just a file, it has to be stored somewhere on the hard drive, possibly in the calibrations folder of Kmanager as a default unless your tuner put it somewhere else. Do a search for *.kal files if you can't find it.

I went to see an other tuner and he said that its not properly tuned at all, And I think the guy I went to see will have hondata soon in his shop or have it. still in canada. Since my post here Laminar gave me a call and they gave me shit cause I'm asking question here. What they dont know is i'm getting fedup I called back and the receptionist said he was busy I told to ask him to call me back he didn't again x 10 times atleast in the past months.

Now they want to take the car again ( also note: They had the car for over 5months ) and they said I was pressuring them to get it back?? I dont think it takes that long to get my pieces in the engine and get it running. ( in those 5 months they blew my new rebuilded engine cause they did put the pistons on the proper side )

what should I do?

Find a new tuner. Write it off as experience, don't throw good money after bad. Personally I wouldn't let them touch my car for tuning if they can't even do the mechanical work correctly. I know everybody makes mistakes, but this seems excessive.

Either your tune is totally out to lunch or you have mechanical issues that must be recitfied first. I'd start with the mechanical.
