I bought in February two sets of S300J to be fitted on JDM P72 ecus that available over here.
The 1st set was for my friend's EK, and i got them fitted in early April with no problem or issues.
The 2nd set was for my own DC2 which i tried fitting last week. But as i was getting the S300J installed we found out that the chip 74HC373 to be too big to be fitted on the JDM P72 ECU.
I thought it was a problem with my JDM P72 ecu so i borrowed my friends S300J JDM P72 ECU i socketed in April to compare. Then i found out the 1st ecu I socketed for the S300J instead had a smaller IC4 chip with the code AC373.
Now i'm stuck with a S300J which i cannot socket cause the IC4 chip provided is way too big and cannot fit my JDM P72 ecu.
Please help.
Thanks.
Chris
S300J Hardware Problem
In summary then: you have the wrong sort of 373 latch chip for a JDM ECU.
Either contact your dealer and arrange for us to send out another latch chip, or source one locally. The part number is SN74AC373NSR, description 20-sip octal transparent d-type latch. The important part is that the width shound be 7.5mm or 0.300"

Hondata
Thanks.
The problem we source the S300J is from USA dealer and we are based in Asia.
I will email the USA Hondata Dealer and at the same time will try to check local electrical shop the chip.
Is this a common problem for mix-up of IC4 chip? Many of my group of friends here want to use these S300J if they are good on my car, but this problem worries us for future purchase as if these problems happen again and we face a problem rectifying it as we are so far away from USA to get the problem solved.
Will let you know if i can't find the chip locally.
Thanks.
