Just Installed KPRO in K20A2 and car stalls & idles poor

Post by rsxts02 »

I just finished installing my new KPRO to my 02 RSX type s and the car idles irregularly and then stalls/shut off when I turn the steering wheel left or right.. What is causing this problem????

Right now it's stock.... I have Megan Header, CAI, stage 3 clutch & Skunk2 exhaust in my garage ready to install this weekend. But I haven't done anything to the car as yet!!!

Clean the idle valve - they get clogged up easily.

Also be aware that the ECU has an idle learn function which takes approx 3-4 driving cycles. If you disconnect the battery, have an engine swap harness which does not wire the main relay correctly, or upload a new calibration, then the ECU will not idle quite as well until it has undergone the idle learn. It should not stall during this time however.

OK, I'll go ahead and clean the idle valve. I noticed that it ran much better this morning, Note...I installed it yesterday!! I will try the idle learn process that I found on a website also, to see if it will fix the problem. I am still curious though about the stalling whenever I turn the wheels to the far left or right. This happens only when the car is at a complete stop.... any suggestions???

you can start the car cold and hold the throttle down to 3k untill the car warms up and/or the fan kicks on

from there let go and have the car idle for about 5min

thats textbook idle learn procedure from the honda tech's down the road from me
