k20a2 w/ RBC mani .kal

Post by risktypes »

Does anyone have a k20a2 .kal with rbc IM. I have short ram, catback exhaust but i just need one that is relatively tuned with the RBC IM. Please help anyone. I do not want to spend $600 on a 5 to maybe 10 min tune.

I recently did a RBC + src + DTR header tune and it was most certainly not a quick tune. Perhaps if you don't have a race header, it will be quicker. The fuel needed all sorts of attention on every cam angle.

i don't have any headers their just stock. Don't really want to go N/A route i'm going F/I to so i see no point in spending money on headers when i could put it towards F/I. So when i put on the RBC it's going to have lots of fuel issues?

Part throttle will be relatively fine, but n/a WOT will need some fuel. I don't see what the point is if you are going boost -- just use one of the boost base maps for your manifold and tune boost. When done, go back and try to stay out of boost on the dyno and tune columns 8, 9, and 10 as a group to 12 something -- just something sane.

wont be going boost here soon but that is my route, i've already got turbo being built. So i do need to get a tune when i get RBC on or is it something i can look for to tune the fuel myself. Sorry i ask these questions which may seem stupid to you but i'm a newb at hondata and i do not want to spend $600 on a tune that's just insane. I like to do things myself w/o dependence of other people. Here is what i'm going to have for setup till i go boost.

SRI,catback Exhaust and RBC mani. nothing else. Just wanted to see if i can get a tune that is in the general are of that and possibly work from there.

I'd start with the k20a2 coldair calibration and go from there. A good tuner should be able to clean up your n/a wot in far less than an hour. This isn't a $600 dollar tune, just a "please make this safe at WOT" tune.

the reason i say $600 is because that's what the shop wants to charge and then $150/hr if i have to come back for more tunes and what not. Thank you so much for your help.. i just sat and read the whole hondata book how to's and what not last night since power went out. So i have a rough idea of how to do it now. going to use that printout as a guide. Thanks for your help man i'm going to read more till i can feel 100% comfortable and get good at tuning k-pro.

On a side note, if you can find anyone who can completely tune your car in "5-10 minutes", please let us know who this master is.
