How mamny amps are Honda Fuel injector drivers?

Post by smracing »

Trying to get fuel injectors and need to know how many amps the injector drivers in a P28 operate at.

You can't really measure in amps. You should be using saturated or high impedance injectors. If you use peak and hold or low impedance injectors you must use a resistor box to keep from burning out the injectors drivers.

Yeah I know the difference in peak hold and saturated and the system requirements. I was looking through some of the aftermarket injectors their catalog list injector driver amperages.

Check out the bottom of the page there are injector listings with requisite driver amperages.

The only sheet I could find in the list shows a max of ten amps, is that what you guys have seen?

STA460C : two NPN darlington
E=pin 4, B=pin 2, C=pin 3
E=pin 9, B=pin 7, C=pin 8

Absolute maximum ratings:
Vcbo = 60 +/-10 V
Vceo = 60 +/-10 V
Vebo = 6 V
Ic = 6 A
Icp = 10A (PWs<&ms, Du<50%)
Pr = 3.2 W (ta=25?C) and 18 W (Tc=25?C)
Tj = 150?C
Tstg = -40 to 150?C

Electrical characteritics:
Icbo = 10uA at Vcb=50V
Iebo = 10uA at Veb=6v
Vceo = 60V at Ic=50mA
hfe = 1500 at Vce=1V and Ic=1A
Vce(sat) = 0.09V at Ic=1.5A and Ib=15mA
Vfec = 1.25V at Ifec=6A
Es/b = 200 mJ at L=10mH and single pulse
