Datalogging external knock sensor (detalarm )

Post by jordancivic »

Hi, im using a P06 vtec converted, with an external Knock display and a Bosch sensor http://www.roojai.co.uk/products.htm

I would like to connect the signal line in parrallel to an input on the ecu for datalogging the knock. I realise that the P06 doesnt have knock capabilities but i should be able to use a spare input right??

Any ideas?

The 2 signal wires coming from the sensor are signal + and signal -.

Does anyone know the voltage range, or if its possible to datalog? I was expecting 1, 0-5v signal wire.

No, you cannot do this. If you want knock control you must use a P30, P61 or P72 ecu.

It does not sound like he wants to use knock control. He simply wants to datalog any knock that the knock sensor detects. It all depends on the output of the knock sensor system you're using. If its within the parameters that the analog input on the P06 operates, then it should be able to datalog no problem.

Thats correct, im not interested in using knock control, only datalogging activity alongside rpm, load etc.

Ill see if i can find out the signal ranges and post detials.

Thanks

Best thing is to connect a wire from the signal input into the chip within the Detalarm. This input is a linear signal that ranges from 0v to 1.25v depending on levels of detonation. If you email me I can give you more info on which pin to attach the wire from.

Excellent, thanks mate.

What would be the best way to setup hondata for this 0-1.25v sweep ?

Sorry, no idea as I have no experience of Hondata - just thought I could help with the Detalarm output.
